Jammu: In a significant breakthrough under “Operation SANJEEVANI”, Police Station R.S Pura has arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 9 grams of heroin in the area.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said “On August 27, 2024, a police team led by SHO PS R.S Pura established a checkpoint at Burey De Kothey, near Lovely Palace, and intercepted a motorcycle with three occupants. The suspects, identified as Amit Singh, Mohd Saleem, and Vishal Kumar, were found carrying 9 grams of heroin”.
“A case under FIR No. 189/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act has been registered, and the accused have been arrested”, reads Police Statement, adding therein that the investigation is ongoing. Police in its statement also appealed people of Jammu district to remain vigilant against drug abuse and report any suspicious activities, ensuring confidentiality and safety for informants.
