Srinagar, Aug 28: Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Wednesday said his party won’t sit in any alliance as people of the region have experienced much bad experience of past alliances formed since 1987.

He said if Apni Party will come to power it will announce general amnesty to youth lodged in jails and summoned to police stations unnecessarily.
Bukhari who was speaking to reporters during his outreach programme in Rangreth, an outskirt of Srinagar, said the government has already announced election schedule for Jammu and Kashmir and our party and its leaders have started to reach out to people who are real kings in democracy and convince them to support the party in the upcoming elections.

“People are the real kings in democracy. We are reaching to them on our performance we did in last four years. They know ours in the only party who stepped out after August 2019 for the larger interest of J&K and its people. We ensured protection of land and jobs for local domiciles, and ensured release of 3000 to 3500 youth. There are manifold issues still which needs to be addressed. If Apni Party elected to power we will announce general amnesty to youth lodged in jails and summoned to police stations. Further we will enhance old age/widow pension from 1 thousand to 5 thousand. 2 lakh government jobs will be given to educated youth. Also unemployed graduates will be provided monthly stipend. Schools, health sector and water works structure will be augmented,” Bukhari asserted.

Responding to a query, Bukhari said that his party is not in an alliance nor they have such intentions as of now as past alliances have inflicted enough damage to J&K and its people. “Be it alliance of Congress-NC in 1987, or alliance of PDP-BJP in 2014. Such alliances have inflicted much damage to J&K and its people. We are now scared of such alliances. Alliance parties feel they can go to any level and violate people’s mandate in broad day light,” he said.

Hitting out at NC and PDP, Bukhari said that FIR’s registered against youth have been lodged in the times of NC and PDP governments. “I’m making this commitment to my people that if Apni Party comes to power, a general amnesty will be announced for youth lodged in jails or summoned to police stations unnecessarily,” Bukhari held.
