Jammu: In a significant breakthrough under “Operation Sanjeevani,” the Nowabad Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 1 kg of ganja-like substance on August 26, 2024.
According to a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu A police party led by ASI Chaggar Singh set up a checkpoint near Kabir Colony Chowk, where they signaled a white-colored scooty to stop. The driver, Ajay Singh, attempted to flee but was apprehended by the police. Upon searching the scooty, a polythene bag containing 1 kg of ganja-like substance was found.
The statement reads, “Ajay Singh, a 40-year-old resident of Puran Nagar, Talab Tillo, was taken into custody, and his scooty was seized. A case has been registered under FIR No. 130/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Nowabad”. The arrest and recovery were made under the supervision of senior officials, including DySP Hqrs. Jammu and SP City North, Jammu.
