Ramban : To encourage voters for maximum participation in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024, the District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of District Election Officer (DEO) Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, has initiated a series of dynamic voter awareness campaigns across the district.
These initiatives, part of the Election Commission of India’s flagship SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program, are designed to inspire citizens to actively participate in the democratic process by exercising their right to vote.
A mega awareness event was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Tethar, Banihal. Various sections of society, including students, teachers, and community members participated in the event; all united in their commitment to strengthening democracy through informed voting.
The momentum continued with another event at Government High School Kaskoot, where the District SVEEP team, in collaboration with the AC-55 Banihal SVEEP team, organized engaging activities to educate the electorate on the importance of their vote and the role of elections in shaping the future of their region.
Highlighting the inclusive nature of the campaign, a mega SVEEP program focused specifically on women voters was spearheaded by the Nodal Officer for AC-55 Banihal, with the Assistant Nodal Officer’s support, under the supervision of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Chief Education Officer Ramban, Vikram Singh. This initiative emphasized the critical role of women in the electoral process and sought to empower them through awareness and education.
As part of this comprehensive campaign, an awareness rally was also organized in the local market area of Chreel; widespread participation was observed in the campaign , with residents marching through the streets carrying banners and placards, raising slogans that underscored the significance of voting and civic responsibility.
These activities, organized by the District Administration Ramban, represent a concerted and inclusive effort to foster a culture of active electoral participation, ensuring that every citizen is empowered to make an informed choice in the upcoming elections.
