Huge Quantity Of Country-Made Illicit Liquor Seized In Ang, 2 Held: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has seized huge quantity of illicit country-made liquor at Bijbehara and arrested two persons involved in its production and distribution.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific inputs, a team of officers from Anantnag Police conducted a raid at Pazalpora, Bijbehara, near Jadoo Point, leading to the seizure of approximately 950 litres of illicit country-made liquor. Stating that the operation also uncovered various equipments and materials used in the illegal production process and during the operation, two persons identified as Azad Singh and Suraj Chohan, originally from Akola, Maharashtra, and currently residing in Pazalpora, Bijbehara, were arrested, Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 168/2024 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Bijbehara besides initiating further investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police warned people not to indulge in illegal activities , reiterating therein its commitment to enforce excise laws and curb illegal activities in the district.
