New Delhi : Labeling the National Conference (NC) and Congress Party’s alliance as a Gunahon Ka Ghatbandan (an alliance of sins), senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana on Wednesday called on the people of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to stay vigilant and resist their tactics. “If these parties come to power, another cycle of bloodshed would be inevitable”, said the MP.
The senior BJP leader accused both the National Conference and the Congress of having a history of exploiting communal sentiments for political gain, leading to violence and unrest in the region. “Both NC and Congress have a history of slaughtering innocents for vote bank politics,” Khatana asserted. “We will issue a white paper on their misdeeds. If they form an alliance and return to power, they will usher in another round of bloodshed in J&K.”
Khatana contrasted the previous administrations with the current situation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. He emphasized that J&K has seen significant progress without the violence that once plagued the region. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Home Minister Amit Shah Ji, J&K has scripted a new history, erasing the bloodstains left by the NC and Congress. Civilian killings were once the daily headlines before Modi Ji took over as the Prime Minister. Today, there hasn’t been a strike calendar issued for years, and the people of J&K are actively contributing to the development of the region and the nation,” he said.
Mr. Khatana further highlighted the changes brought about under Modi’s leadership, particularly in terms of individual dignity and the reduction of harassment at the checkpoints in J&K. “Harassment at checkpoints was the norm before Modi Ji’s leadership. People had to endure curfews and extensive checks, being deboarded from their vehicles and forced to wait in long queues for checking under NC-Congress’s misrule. They did not bother about the dignity of public. But, our leader respects the dignity of every individual,” Khatana stated.
He added that the Modi government has taken decisive action against anti-national elements, ensuring that those who sympathize with terrorism are dealt with firmly. “The Modi government has been successful in eradicating the terror ecosystem. The sympathizers of terrorism are being dealt with an iron hand. PM Modi’s slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is visible on the ground, respect for nationalists and iron for the anti-nationals,” he emphasized.
Khatana also took aim at Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of attempting to mislead the people of J&K. He urged the public to remain vigilant and not fall prey to their tactics. “Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will try to mislead the masses in J&K,” Khatana warned. “I request the people of J&K to stay alert and not fall into their trap. The Awam (people) have a responsibility to contribute to nation-building by keeping forces like the NC and Congress at bay,” he concluded.
