Assembly Polls: EO reviews election arrangements at Ramban

Ramban: In preparation for the General Election to Legislative Assembly (GELA) 2024, Expenditure Observer Sulekh Chand Jain conducted a comprehensive review of the election arrangements in District Rambanon Wednesday. The meeting, attended by senior officers, was held to assess the readiness across the district.
District Election Officer (DEO) Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary; SSP Kulbir Singh; ADDC RoshnaLal; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; Dy. DEO, Abdul Jabar and Nodal Officers and several other officers were present in the review.
Commending the efforts of the District Administration, the Expenditure Observer emphasized the importance of conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, ensuring a level playing field for all contestants. He asked the officers to strive for excellence in making the democratic process a grand success in the district.
The Expenditure Observer assured the officers of full cooperation and guidance throughout the election process, stressing the need for timely reporting to ensure smooth operations in both Assembly constituencies, AC-54 Ramban and AC-55 Banihal.
Earlier, the DEO presented a PowerPoint Presentation outlining the district’s geography and the extensive preparations undertaken by the District Administration and Police Department.
The DEO provided a comprehensive overview of the election arrangements, including the establishment and management of Strong Rooms, Polling Stations, formulation of Transport Plan, the randomization of EVMs and staff, 100% webcasting from all Polling Stations, and the management of Service Voters and Postal Ballots. Additionally, he discussed the boarding and lodging arrangements for polling staff and the functioning of the 24×7 Election Control Room. The DEO also highlighted the status of the final voter lists under the 2nd Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2024 and detailed the arrangements being made at polling stations to facilitate voters from all sections of society.
The Expenditure Observer also reviewed the district’s security scenario, ensuring all measures are in place for a secure and orderly election process.
