Srinagar: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Tuesday filed chargesheet against a Pakistani Handler/ militant Commander @ Sumama @ llyas and Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Khadermoh, Kakapora, Pulwama and Javed Ahmad Yatoo S/O Late Abdul MajeedYatoo R/O Astan Mohalla PatalBagh Pampore, before the Court of Special Judge, Designated under NIA Act, at Srinagar, in case FIR No. 02/2024 U/S 13,38,39,40 ULA(P) Act r/ w 120-B IPC of P/S CIK Srinagar.
In a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ Srinagar Police said “the case owes its origin to an input received through informed sources by Police Station CIK wherein it was reported that a Pakistani based militant Commander/Handler @ Sumama @ llyas sitting in Pakistan, in a criminal conspiracy with Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Khadermoh, Kakapora, Pulwama and Javed Ahmad Yatoo S/O Late Abdul Majeed Yatoo R/O Astan Mohalla PatalBagh Pampore, in order to funnel money to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit manages funds from Gulf countries and bring it to Jammu and Kashmir through (couriers). Stating that the money is subsequently used in militant related activities”, Police in its statement further said that the said militant commander/handler is also known for recruiting the potential youths into militant ranks through different Social Media applications including encrypted messaging applications. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that a reward of INR 3.00 Lacs has already been announced for giving information about the militant commander/Handler @ Sumama @ Ilyas.
