Jammu: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 27 bovines besides seizing the vehicle used in the commission of crime in Nagrota area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that while tightening its noose against bovine smugglers under operation Kamdhenu aPolice party of police post Manwal foiled one bovine smuggling bid in which two bovine smugglers identified as Irfan Ahmed S/o Mohd. Arbi R/ O Sunjwanb Jallalabad. And Altaf Hussain S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Krimchi Udhampur were arrested on spot, adding therein that 21 Bovines were rescued besides which truck bearing registration number JK02CV6663 was seized. Police in its statement furthermore said that a case under FIR No. 190/024 U/S 223 BNS and 11 PCA act was also registered at Police Station Jhajjar kotli of Jammu district.
Stating that team of Police Station Nagrota also foiled one more bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 6 bovines animals , seizing one Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration n0 JK18A/5244 seized , Police in its statement further said that the driver of the vehicle namely Nasar Hussain S/O Abdul Rehman R/o Churat Tehsil Devsar District kulgam was also arrested, adding therein a case under FIR No.226/2024 U/S 223/BNS 11 PCA Act 5/52/54/56 Transport of animals Act stands registered at Police Station Nagrota.
