Theft Case Solved In G’bal, 4 Accused Arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting four accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Kangan received a written complaint on 28th of May 2024 regarding cattle theft at Kachnambal Wudar Kangan, adding therein that on receipt of this complaint, a case FIR No 41/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kangan and subsequently investigation was started.
Stating that during the course of investigation, a special team headed by SHO Police Station Kangan constituted on the directions of SSP Ganderbal apprehended four suspects , Police in its statement further said that those apprehended by it were identified as Imran Ahmad Shah S/o Ajaz Ah Shah R/o UP A/P Panzinara, Altaf Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ab Wahab Sheikh R/o Gantmula Baramulla, Mohd Lateef Pathan S/o Ali Mohd Pathan R/o Mujpathri Budgam & a Juvenile (name withheld) R/o Qamarwari Srinagar.
Police in its statement further said that during questioning, the said accused confessed their involvement in the commission of crime and also revealed that they have sold the cattles to a butcher identified as Yaqoob Ahmad Wani S/o Mohd Maqbool Wani R/o Hajin Sonawari.
Stating that all the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody , Police in its statement further said that the juvenile was lodged in juvenile home Harwan Srinagar, adding therein that two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK06B0172 & JK05L5975 used in the commission of the crime were also seized.
