Drug Peddler Arrested In G’bal With Contraband Substance: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on receiving inputs about concealing of a brown sugar like substance in a forest hut by one Omer Fayaz Bhat S/o Fayaz Ahmad Bhat R/o Shaltang Srinagar at Rakh Harran in Ganderbal a police party raided the suspects as the accused wanted to sell the brown sugar like substance to the local youth.
Stating that during raids the police party recovered the said Brown Sugar like substance from the hut where it was concealed, Police in its statement further said that after seizing the brown sugar like substance in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st class the accused was arrested following whuch a case under FIR No. 210/2024 was also registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Ganderbal. Police in its statement further said further investigation of the case is underway.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its comitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
