CUK celebrates Rakhi with soldiers

Ganderbal : Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW), with students of various departments of Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), in association with Sneha Foundation, Hyderabad, celebrated the Raksha Bandhan with the soldiers of 24RR, here Monday.
The “Rakhi for Soldiers” programme aims to foster commitment towards safety by tying Rakhis to esteemed military officers by celebrating the spirit of protection and patriotism. As an initiative of the Sneha Foundation, the celebrations encourage citizens to express their gratitude for the soldiers’ outstanding contributions, sacrifices and bravery. Further, the students interacted with the soldiers about the challenges in their service and the motivation behind their immeasurable contributions.
The celebration reminds the tradition, exemplifying the unity and respect that bind the culture and nation. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, lauded the Sneha Foundation, 24RR, and the student volunteers for coming together to celebrate the festival of bonding.
Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs, said the festival nurtures bonding and responsibility, which is important for the younger generation. Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Registrar, acclaimed the students for volunteering for the celebrations of ‘Rakhi for soldiers’.
Students from various departments participated in the event and thanked the Army personnel and the University for facilitating the event.
Dr Irfan Alam, Dean DSW, acknowledged the Sneha Foundation for facilitating the event. He thanked Col. Anup Manjali, Commanding Officer, Major. Raghav Sharma and other officers of 24 RR, for accommodating the CUKashmir students for celebrations and hospitality. He also expressed his best wishes to all the female students, teachers and staff of CUKashmir on this auspicious occasion. The event was coordinated by the faculty members Dr. Himabindu, Dr. Chandra Kiran, Dr. Bandu Matiyal, Ms. Kinjal, and Dr. Manju.
