Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the vision and thoughts of leaders like former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi will continue to shape the nation’s journey.
In a message on the occasion of Kalaignar (as Mr Karunanidhi was called) Centenary Commemorative coin release event, Mr Modi said it was heartening to learn about the organisation of Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Centenary Commemorative Coin release ceremony.
This is an important occasion to commemorate the centenary of one of India’s most illustrious sons, Mr Karunanidhi.
Hailing the late DMK leader as a towering figure in Indian politics, literature and society, the Prime Minister said Mr Karunanidhi was always passionate about the development of Tamil Nadu, as well as national progress.
As a political leader, Karunanidhi left an indelible mark on our country’s history as a Chief Minister, who was elected by the people multiple times over the span of decades, underlining his deep understanding of society, policy and politics, Modi said.
