“People waited for reforms, and when we got the opportunity, we implemented major changes. Our commitment to reform is not for editorial praise; it is for strengthening the nation. This has led to a surge in self-confidence. Today, our youth are not content with walking; they want to leap towards new achievements.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that “This is India’s golden era, and 2047 awaits our vision of Viksit Bharat.”  In his key Independence Day speech at Red Fort New Delhi, he emphasized the nation’s resolve to overcome challenges and fulfill its ambitions with renewed vigor. Reflecting on his earlier promise, Modi reiterated that during his third term, India would become the third-largest economy, and he would work at three times the speed to bring the nation’s dreams to fruition.  “I’m not afraid of challenges because I live for my country and its people. Let’s commit ourselves 24/7 to achieving our ancestors’ dreams for 2047,” he said.

Reforms And Youth Empowerment: PM Modi highlighted the transformative reforms implemented by the central government over the past decade. These changes, he noted, have instilled self-confidence in the youth, driving them to take bold strides forward.  “People waited for reforms, and when we got the opportunity, we implemented major changes. Our commitment to reform is not for editorial praise; it is for strengthening the nation. This has led to a surge in self-confidence. Today, our youth are not content with walking; they want to leap towards new achievements. This truly is a golden era for India,” he remarked.

Modernization Across Sectors: Modi underscored the modernization efforts across all sectors, including tourism, MSMEs, and healthcare, adopting best practices and leveraging technology. He urged the nation to unite in achieving these goals. “Every sector needs innovation and support. Let’s unite our strength to achieve all our goals,” he said.

Saluting National Contributors: Acknowledging the contributions of farmers, soldiers, youth, and other communities, PM Modi recognized their role in propelling the nation forward.  “Our farmers, soldiers, the courage of our youth, the contributions of our mothers and sisters, the Dalits, the exploited, the deprived, and the oppressed—today, a collective spirit for national security and development prevail. I salute all these people today,” he said.

Enhancing Quality of Life;The “Ease of Living” Mission: Prime Minister Modi, in his recent speech, outlined his vision for improving the quality of life in India through the “Ease of Living” mission. He emphasized the need for systematic assessments and enhancements in urban infrastructure and services to make daily living more convenient and efficient. This initiative aims to address urban challenges and ensure that cities become more livable, offering better facilities and services to residents.

Reviving India’s Educational Legacy: A cornerstone of Modi’s vision is reviving the ancient spirit of Nalanda University, with the goal of establishing India as a global education hub. Building on the 2024 inauguration of Nalanda University, Modi envisions promoting higher learning and research to attract students and scholars worldwide. This effort reflects India’s commitment to restoring its historic academic legacy and positioning itself as a center of excellence in education.

Advancing Technological Self-Sufficiency: Prime Minster Modi also outlined India’s ambition to become a global leader in semiconductor production, a critical step toward reducing dependency on imported chips and enhancing technological self-sufficiency. By investing in semiconductor manufacturing, India aims to bolster its position in the global technology landscape and support its rapidly growing digital economy.

Skill Development For A Global Workforce: In reference to the 2024 Budget, Modi highlighted landmark initiatives aimed at making India the skill capital of the world. The government is focused on training the youth to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market. By enhancing vocational education and skill development, the government seeks to equip young Indians with the necessary skills to excel in diverse sectors, driving economic growth and reducing unemployment.

Transforming India Into A Manufacturing Powerhouse: Modi envisions transforming India into a global manufacturing hub by leveraging the country’s vast resources and skilled workforce. This vision includes promoting indigenous manufacturing capabilities and encouraging investments across various industrial sectors to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities.

“Design In India, Design For The World”: A key aspect of Modi’s vision is the emphasis on developing indigenous design capabilities. He urged the creation of products that cater to both domestic and international markets, coining the phrase “Design in India, Design for the World.” This initiative seeks to showcase India’s growing design expertise and encourage the development of globally competitive products, highlighting the nation’s innovation and creativity.

Tapping Into The Global Gaming Market: Modi also addressed India’s potential in the global gaming market, emphasizing the need to leverage the country’s rich cultural heritage and literature to develop Made in India gaming products. His vision includes positioning Indian professionals not only as leading players but also as creators in the gaming industry, establishing India as a significant player on the global stage.

Green Growth And Climate Action: On the topic of climate change, Modi emphasized the importance of green jobs as part of India’s green growth strategy. He reiterated the nation’s commitment to becoming a global leader in green hydrogen production, which will contribute to environmental protection and create sustainable employment opportunities. The focus is on developing green technologies and promoting green jobs to support India’s transition to a more sustainable economy.

Health Initiatives For A Developed India By 2047: Modi underscored the importance of health in achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047. He spoke about the launch of the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan, aimed at improving nutritional outcomes and overall health. This mission reflects a broader commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring a healthier population.

Attracting Investments Through Good Governance: The Prime Minister called on state governments to establish clear policies to attract investments, emphasizing the need for assurances of good governance and a stable law and order situation to build investor confidence. Modi’s vision includes creating a competitive investment environment where states actively work to attract and retain investments, contributing to national economic growth.

Setting Global Standards For Quality: Modi expressed India’s aspiration to set global standards for quality, stressing the need for Indian products and services to meet international benchmarks. This goal reflects a broader ambition to enhance India’s reputation for quality and reliability on the global stage, thereby increasing competitiveness in international markets.

Commitment To Renewable Energy And Climate Targets: Reaffirming India’s commitment to climate action, Modi reiterated the goal of achieving 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030. He highlighted India’s success in meeting its Paris Accord targets ahead of time, positioning the country as a leader in global climate efforts. The focus on renewable energy underscores India’s dedication to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Expanding Medical Education: Modi announced plans to add 75,000 new medical seats over the next five years to address the growing demand for healthcare professionals and enhance India’s medical education capacity. By increasing the number of medical seats, the government aims to improve healthcare access and reduce the need for students to pursue education abroad.

Revitalizing Indian Politics With New Talent: The Prime Minister called for the induction of 100,000 new youth into the political system, specifically targeting those without a familial background in politics. This initiative aims to combat nepotism and introduce fresh perspectives into Indian politics. Modi’s vision includes revitalizing the political landscape with new talent and ideas, fostering a more dynamic and representative political environment.
