Kulgam: As part of the nationwide celebrations commemorating Independence Day , the District Social Welfare Office Kulgam in collaboration with District Administration Kulgam spearheaded a series of activities centered around the theme ‘Viksit Bharat ka Mantra, Bharat ho Nashe sae Swatantra,’ here.
The highlight of the day was an awareness program held at the Auditorium Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Kulgam, which commenced with a pledge-taking ceremony presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Vikar Ahmad Giri.
In his address, the ADC highlighted the proactive measures undertaken by the District Administration, under the leadership of the DC Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, to combat the pressing issue of drug abuse within the community.
Experts from various departments, including the Drug De-addiction Centre, Social Welfare Department and Education Department, delivered informative sessions aimed at raising awareness about the clinical and psychological aspects of drug addiction.
Furthermore, an awareness rally flagged-off by the ADC commenced from the Mini Secretariat and culminated at the Drug De-addiction Centre, with participation from employees and students of various educational institutions in the district.
The day’s events concluded with a plantation drive at the Drug De-addiction Centre in Kulgam.
