Srinagar : Police in on Saturday said that it has successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production unit in Anantnag during a routine inspection at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad and also a substantial quantity of country-made liquor and equipment used for its production.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that in addition to the seized liquor, Police also apprehended eight individuals and recovered ₹13,600, which is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal liquor.
Stating that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law besides initiating further investigations, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that this operation underscores the J&K Police’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and protecting the community from the detrimental effects of illegal liquor trade..
