Srinagar :Socio-political activist Dr. Peerzada Mehraj Ud Din has called for Tral to be connected to Pahalgam via a motorway through Bhatnoor, as well as linking Tral with Wahab Sahab area of Pampore via Syedabad Pastuna.
Speaking to the media at Bhatnoor on Saturday, Dr. Mehraj Ud Din emphasized that a motorway would create employment opportunities and enhance tourism, while a railway connection might negatively impact the local ecosystem.
He argued that constructing a road would lead to the development of guest houses and tea stalls, thereby boosting Tral’s economy and promoting tourism.
Dr. Mehraj Ud Din also criticized the railway authorities for not engaging with Tral’s residents about the proposed railway project, suggesting that a public outreach program would have been beneficial. His recent entry into politics with the PDP has seen him actively addressing local issues.
