New Delhi, Aug 10: In an escalation of violence, more than 100 people have been reported killed and dozens injured after Israeli missiles struck the al-Taba’een school in the Daraj area of Gaza City. The school, which was being used as a shelter for displaced Palestinians, was hit by three rockets on Saturday, according to reports from Gaza’s civil defence agency.
The Israeli military confirmed the strike, stating that it had targeted a Hamas command center embedded within the school. This is part of a broader campaign by Israel to dismantle Hamas infrastructure, which it claims is being deliberately placed within civilian areas. Earlier in the week, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that they had targeted other Hamas command and control centers within two additional schools in Gaza City.
