Vigilance Awareness Week: Vigilance Awareness Prog organized at B’pora

Bandipora : As part of Vigilance Awareness Week, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Baramulla (BKB) in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora on Thursday organised a Vigilance Awareness Programme at the Conference Hall, D.C office, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The programme was chaired by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, and was attended by ADC Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandit (District Vigilance Officer), S.P ACB (BKB) Ayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Chief Prosecuting Officer ACB North and other officers of the team of ACB.
The event witnessed participation from various stakeholders, including all District Officers and officials of various departments including DDOs of school Education Department.
The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated from 05 August to 10 August 2024 with the theme ‘Culture of integrity for Nation’s Prosperity’, across Jammu and Kashmir and aims to promote integrity and transparency in governance and sensitization of officers/officials and other stakeholders.
Addressing the participants, ADDC highlighted the collective efforts of the authorities in building a corruption-free society. He also deliberated on the role of awareness in fostering a culture of integrity.
ADC Bandipora also deliberated on various initiatives taken by the Government to bring transparency, accountability and efficiency in good governance.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police ACB North, Ayaz Ahmad Sheikh, highlighted the significance of vigilance in public administration. He also spoke on the impact of corruption on society and the economy, as well as the legal framework and mechanisms in place to address corruption.
The SP raised awareness on complaint procedures and encouraged the public to report any instances of corruption through appropriate channels.
DTO Bandipora Sheikh Aabid also deliberated on various provisions of the procurement manual/GFR/Financial rules/regulation to be followed while spending Govt. funds by DDO’s.
During the programme, an interactive session was also organized in which participants engaged in discussions and shared best practices for promoting ethical behavior in various sectors.
