Srinagar : National Conference Member Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha Constituency Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Thursday denounced the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, saying the bill is aimed to dis-empower the Muslim community across the country.
As the Government proposed the introduction of the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, MP Mian Altaf Ahmad said that our nation is renowned worldwide for its secularism and democratic principles. However, he vehemently argued that the introduction of such a bill would not only tarnish the country’s image but also instill apprehensions among the Muslim community across the country.
