Srinagar: The Cultural Activities Committee of Government Degree College for Women in Anantnag organised a “National Anthem Singing Competition” today on 8th of August 2024. The competition was held as part of 77th Independence Day celebrations under the overall guidance and patronage of the Principal, Prof (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik.
Commencing at 11:00 am in the Conference Hall, the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students who poured their heart out while singing the national anthem. The performance of the singers was judged by a team of jury members comprising Dr Shahi Jahan, Dr Shahnaz Gul and Prof Ab Qayoom.
The first prize was bagged by Absariya Altaf of 2nd Semester while Arbeena Shafi and Shaista Gazi won second and third prizes respectively. Various students and faculty members of different departments attended the program and encouraged the participants. Prof Masroofa Qadir, NSS Program Officer conducted the proceedings of the program whereas Prof Saima Syed, Convenor Cultural Activities Committee proposed the vote of thanks. QUIZ COMPETITION.
As part of the 77th Independence Day celebrations, today on 8th of August 2024 Government Degree College for Women Anantnag organised an intra-college Quiz Competition on the theme ‘Freedom Struggle and National heroes’. The participants were divided into three teams: A, B and C. The programme was conducted under the patronage of the worthy Principal of the college, Prof (D) Masood Ahmad Malik. The event aimed to test participants’ knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a competitive and engaging environment.
The event was moderated by Prof Syed Toasin Rehmat, NSS Program Officer while the Quiz was conducted by Prof Gousia Khan, Head of the Department of History, who modulated the Quiz into three diverse rounds. The students actively participated in the event. The Team B comprising Nahila Jan, Simran Ayoub and Muskan Reyaz–students of 2nd Semester, emerged as the winner of the competition. The Quiz Competition provided a platform for participants to engage in a stimulating, intellectual challenge, fostering a spirit of competition, collaboration, and learning.
