VC IUST chairs IQAC meeting

Awantipora : The Internal Quality Assessment Cell, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Wednesday met under the chairmanship of Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo and reviewed progress made on different matters including Academic Audit, Compliance with guidelines of regulatory bodies, Energy audit, accreditation processes among others.
The meeting was attended by Prof A H Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof A Wahid, Registrar, Mr. Sameer Wazir, Finance Officer, Prof ShiekhJavid, Dean Research, DrRuman Bashir, CoE, Prof Pervez Ahmad Mir, Director CIED, Dr Peer Bilal Director DIQA, Industry representatives including Mr. Faiz Ahmad Bakshi, Alumni representative, Mr. Hilal Ahmad Khanday and others. In his address, Prof Romshoo stressed on quality teaching and research and said that Institutions have to align their strategic plans with future demands. He said that strong Academia-Industry collaborations in curriculum development, internship opportunities shall pave the way for producing an Industry Ready workforce skilled in IR 4.0 and Web 3.0 technologies.
Important issues discussed in the IQAC included Integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in academics, Dual majors, One University One Data and many more. Prof Romshoo said that in the era of data driven decision making the importance of standard and reliable data can’t be over emphasized. He said that one university one data aims at providing real time data and thereby lead to efficient and effective decision making at different levels. On IKS, he said that traditional knowledge systems have rich repositories of valuable practices, methods which can contribute towards finding solutions to problems such as climate Change, energy conservation and realizing of SDGs. The meeting was coordinated by Dr Peer Bilal.
NC a trailblazer in Women’s political participation: Dr. Farooq

Srinagar|Aug,7: President J&K National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday emphasized the importance of political participation of women by increasing their representation in decision-making positions, stating that the party has been a trailblazer in this regard.
Addressing a one-day convention of the Women’s Wing of Kashmir Province at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Dr. Farooq highlighted NC’s commitment to promoting women’s political participation, ensuring that decision-making processes within the party are inclusive and responsive. He stressed the importance of empowering women and encouraging their active involvement in politics.
