Baramulla: In an effort to engage with the community and address their grievances and demands directly, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Wednesday presided over a Block Diwasprogrammeorganised by the District Administration Baramulla at KunzerTangmarg.
DDC member Kunzer, officers from concerned line departments, public representatives, delegations, and a large number of people from villages and municipal areas of Pattan Block participated in the Block Diwas.
During the program, the local residents and the public representatives put forth their grievances and demands before the DC and the officers, which included issues pertaining to the macadamization of roads, upgradation of schools, portable drinking water, and other pressing issues concerning the local community.
The DC actively engaged with participants, attentively addressing their grievances and developmental concerns. Many issues were promptly resolved on the spot, and the DC issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers to address the remaining grievances on priority and in a time bound manner.
He underscored that the objective behind organizing these grievance redressal camps is to gather insights into local concerns from the public directly, enabling a thorough and timely resolution process based on on-site assessments.
Additionally, Minga Sherpa handed over the keys of highly subsidised tractors sponsored by the agriculture department, certificates, and sanction letters among various eligible beneficiaries during the block diwas.
The DC inspected multiple stalls set up by various departments, including Education, Agriculture, Health, and ICDS, among others, showcasing a range of government schemes, services, and facilities aimed at benefiting the public.
Earlier, Minga Sherpa, in the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate Gulmarg, inaugurated the Under-17 T20 Cricket Tournament in Kunzer and kicked-off the event by hitting the first ball himself.
