Bandipora: A three-day Sericulture Skill Development Training Programmeorganised under Samagra-2 concluded Wednesday at Mulberry Nursery Ayathmumla, Bandipora.
Organized by the Sericulture Development Department Bandipora, the program was attended by farmers from tribal communities who were trained in the latest sericulture practices.
The training focused on the latest sericulture practices aimed at boosting cocoon production and significantly increasing the income of silkworm rearers.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Sericulture Officer said that the training was aimed to boost the silk industry and enhance the livelihood of silk farmers.
Additionally, the training provided information on beneficiary-oriented schemes available in the department and the procedures to avail these schemes.
On the final day of training, certificates and black cloth for drying cocoons were distributed among the trainee farmers.
