Prerna Puri visits Doda, reviews progress on 2nd SSR in Distt, Also interacts with representatives of political parties

Doda : Commissioner Secretary, Information and Technology, Prerna Puri, who is also Electoral Roll Observer for Doda District, on Thursday conducted a review of ongoing 2nd Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2024 during a meeting here.
District Election Officer Doda, Harvinder Singh, briefed the Commissioner Secretary about the latest achievement under 2nd SSR 2024 in the district through a detailed Power Point presentation.
It was informed that the district has three Assembly Constituencies; 51-Bhaderwah, 52-Doda and 53-Doda West with 534 polling stations across the district for 307548 already enrolled voters. The Gender Ratio of Electors in the district stands at 940 and Electoral Population ratio is 63.42.
To manage the electoral process effectively, three Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 17 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 51 Election Supervisors and 534 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been appointed in the district.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary stressed on the importance of completing the revision process, which includes the addition of new eligible and left out Electors, correction of any omissions and removal of duplicate entries, within the specified timeline. She emphasized on the need to expedite the enrollment of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) voters and ensure that no voter is left unregistered in the district.
The Commissioner Secretary emphasized on the officers and officials associated with the SSR to work with dedication and enthusiasm to achieve 100 percent enrolment of eligible voters.
Later, Commissioner Secretary interacted with representatives from various political parties and advised them to appoint Booth Level Agents at all polling stations and seek their cooperation for healthy Photo Electoral Roll in the district.
She urged them to raise public awareness and motivate maximum voter enrollment in the district. She also interacted with some newly eligible electors, students and Booth Level Officers during the visit.
The meeting was attended by ACR Doda (ERO AC 52-Doda), SDM Assar (ERO AC 53-Doda), all Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Tehsildars), Nodal Officer SVEEP and other concerned officials.
