“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”: CUK VC plants sapling

Ganderbal : Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath on Tuesday planted a sapling under the plantation drive “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” organised by the Division of Landscape and Green Mission in collaboration with the National Service Scheme at varsity’s Tulmulla campus.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office Central University of Kashmir Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean School of Legal Studies, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Languages, Prof. Sandhya Tiwari, Dean School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, Dean School of Education, Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Head DCJ, Dr. Arif Nazir, Coordinators of department, In-Charge, Division of Landscape & Green Mission, Dr. Muhammad Latief, NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Ahanger, faculty members and administrative staff enthusiastically participated in the event and planted saplings on the occasion,
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, said, the event is a heartfelt tribute and gratitude to mothers and a commitment to a greener environment. He further said the plantation drive is imperative to maintain the ecological balance and to address the endemic environmental issues. “As a learning institution, our foremost responsibility is not only to impart knowledge but also to instill values of environmental consciousness and sustainability among all the stakeholders,” Prof. A Ravinder Nath added.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” is more than just a plantation drive. “It is a movement to honour the life-giving force of mothers and our commitment to protecting and nurturing our planet.” He asked the Landscape division to actively involve students, scholars, and faculty from all departments to make the plantation drive a success.
