“The biggest achievement for the Government is undoubtedly the stability in the atmosphere of peace and security in Jammu & Kashmir as fragile security environment of Jammu & Kashmir is history of the past now.”

On 5th anniversary of Article 370 abrogation the incumbent Governments both at the centre and as well as in Jammu & Kashmir  have a lot to claim credit for the changes in the developmental and economic scenario besides restoration of the faith of the people in electoral democracy. To count a few the notable achievements for both the Central and J&K Governments include record rise in  tourist footfall in last three years, conduct of incident free Amarnath Yatra for third consecutive year, the conduct of G20 summit in Srinagar last year, the unprecedented voter turnout of above 60%  in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, completion of five year term by municipalities and three tier panchayat bodies ,  the launch of a major electoral initiative for conduct of assembly elections by the Election Commission Of India (ECI)  and above all the restoration of peace and security. While the restoration of the electoral democracy will come to a full circle with the conduct of assembly elections, the Governments both at the centre and as well as in Jammu & Kashmir continue focus on economic empowerment of people through fast track industrialisation and encouragement of investment by private players in social service sectors like health, tourism and education equally in both Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division. The biggest achievement for the Government is undoubtedly the stability in the atmosphere of peace and security in Jammu & Kashmir as fragile security environment of Jammu & Kashmir is history of the past now. Unlike past the Government has extended an open invitation to people for their participation in Independence day parades for the third consecutive year this year  across Jammu & Kashmir .

“Since the secret of peace and stability lies in the fulfillment of the democratic and socio-economic aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the situation and the scenario existing as on today the fifth anniversary of Article 370 abrogation necessitates an urgent attention and intervention of the Central Government for further stabilisation of peace and security and the fulfillment of its agendas of electoral democracy and socio-economic empowerment of the youth in Jammu & Kashmir.”

With this the Government is sending out a message that gone are the days of security restrictions on the movement of people in and around the venues of Independence day parades in twin capital cities besides district and tehsil headquarters across Jammu & Kashmir. In fact focus on stabilisation of security and peace besides revival of electoral democracy and development gives incumbent Government the strength to carry forward it’s agenda of socio-economic transformation in Jammu & Kashmir. From Security and peace to democracy and development the Government has been putting in its best to bring about a perceptible change on the ground in Jammu & Kashmir but still holes left unplugged in the economic and social empowerment of the jobless youth deserve and demand immediate attention and intervention of the both the Central and Jammu & Kashmir Governments. Since the secret of peace and stability lies in the fulfillment of the democratic and socio-economic aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the situation and the scenario existing as on today the fifth anniversary of Article 370 abrogation necessitates an urgent attention and intervention of the Central Government for further stabilisation of peace and security and the fulfillment of its agendas of electoral democracy and socio-economic empowerment of the youth in Jammu & Kashmir.
