CEO Shopian organises One Day Conference on “Transforming Skills: Elevating the Role of Vocational Teachers”

Shopian : Chief Education Officer Shopian Organised One Day Conference on Vocational Education entitled on “Transforming Skills: Elevating the Role of Vocational Teachers” under Samagra Shiksha. The conference was held in the Auditorium of Govt. Degree College Shopian on 05-08-2024. The conference was first of its type in which all the Principals, Headmaster, HOIs of different schools and students of Vocational Subjects participated. This was an innovative initiative organized to bring in focus to vocational education alongside traditional academic learning. The conference was held with the prime objective of highlighting the essence of vocational Courses being taught in the schools. The Principal Govt. Polytechnic Shopian Mr. Manzoor Ahmad was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Chief Education Officer Shopian Mr. Mohammad Shabir, Dy Chief Education Officer Shopian Mr. Javaid Ahmad Khan, Principals of Govt. HSS, Sr. lecturer Mr. Masood Ahmad Taing, Cultural Coordinator Mr. Khursheed Ahmad, Headmaster of Govt. H/S, and Coordinator of various Vocational Courses and Vocational Teachers of various schools attended the conference. The Samagra Shiksha team of Chief Education Office Shopian were found at the helm of affairs in successful conclusion of the programme.
The conference was formally ingurated by Dy Chief Education Officer Shopian Mr. Javaid Ahmad Khan. He formally welcomed the gathering and highlighted the role and importance of Vocational Education. He said vocational education has taken the leading role and provides students with specific skills required for particular jobs. This hands-on training prepares individuals for various trades and professions, ensuring they are job-ready upon completion. Mr. Masood Ahmad Taing Sr. lecturer Govt. HSS Sedow delivered an expert talk on the occasion. In his talk he emphasized the need of vocational education and the efforts of vocational teachers in imparting it. He said rather the traditional classroom teaching Vocational Teachers should focus on transforming technical skills among the students and make the ready to work for industries. Some of the Vocational Teachers and Vocational Coordinators also deliberated and highlighted the essence of the vocational education. The Principal Govt. Polytechnic Mr. Mazoor Ahmd delivered a detailed talk on the occasion and highlighted the essence of vocational education. Mr. Manzoor Ahmad highlighted the importance of various vocational courses. Mr. Manzoor Ahmad highlighted various Govt. Schemes in the direction of enhancing the skills of the youth and how to make the ready to work for industries. He said skilled education.
The Chief Education Officer Shopian Mr. M ohammad Shabir delivered a conclusive talk on the occasion. The highlighted the role of vocational education and vocational techers. He highlighted the great initiative of vocational programmes being implemented under Samagra Shiksha. He said that Vocational education increases employability by equipping students with practical experience and competencies that are in high demand in the job market. This can lead to better job security and career advancement. He said that a skilled workforce is critical for the economic development of any country. By producing graduates who are ready to fill roles in various industries, vocational education supports the growth and competitiveness of businesses. Chief Education Officer Shopian said that by providing practical skills and job-specific training, vocational education can help reduce unemployment rates and improve economic stability for individuals and communities.
The conference was concluded by a vote of thanks by Cultural Coordinator Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Wagay.
