Police carries out bhang destruction drive in G’bal, B’gam

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has carried out bhang destruction drives in Ganderbal and Budgam districts.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in Ganderbal, the drive was carried out at Bamloora and in its adjacent areas especially on the banks of river Sindh by a police party led by SHO Police Station Ganderbalalongwith Municipal Council Ganderbal and Civil Society members.
In Budgam also the drive was carried out in Magam and Bonishah, Kantbagh areas of Kralpora. SHO Police Station Magam alongwith the Municipal Committee, Magam and Civil Society members were part of the drive. A similar drive was also carried out by police party of Police Post Mochuwa along with Incharge Police Post Mochuwa in their jurisdiction.
Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding the cultivation of contraband substances or peddling of drugs and share the same with the nearest police establishment or Dial 112.
concluding para of the above quoted statement police urged people to assist it in the fight against drug peddling by providing any relevant information. Police also said that the cooperation of the people is essential to combat this menace.
