City Municipal Comr Srinagar Kick Starts Swachhata Pakhwada with Inaugural Program at S.K Park

Srinagar : Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed, inaugurated the Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign at S.K Park, marking the beginning of a 15-day campaign dedicated to cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
The initiative aims to enhance cleanliness in various sectors, including clean Residential Areas, Public Spaces, Water Bodies, Markets, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Religious Places, Transportation Hubs and Government Offices.
The inaugural program at S.K Park featured a series of activities designed to engage and educate the community. The event included a stage play focused on the theme of Swachhata (cleanliness), which highlighted the importance of maintaining clean surroundings.
Participants also took a Swachhata pledge, committing to uphold cleanliness in their daily lives. Additionally, the program included a felicitation ceremony to Safaimitras and organizations contributing significantly to cleanliness and environmental conservation.
Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed, expressed his enthusiasm for the Swachhata Pakhwada, stating, “We are dedicated to a culture of cleanliness and sustainability in Srinagar City. The Swachhata Pakhwada reflects our commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more livable environment for all residents.”
He added that the activities and initiatives planned during this fortnight will raise awareness and encourage active participation from the community.”
The program was attended from senior officers of SMC, who joined Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed in his efforts to spearhead this significant initiative.
The event also saw participation from Global Volunteers and residents, with White Global as the supporting partner. Various social organizations were encouraged to actively participate in the Swachhata Pakhwada events. Together, we can work towards building a cleaner, greener, and healthier Srinagar for present and future generations.
