DC Kishtwar finalises preparations for Swachhta Pakhwada

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, DrDevanshYadav chaired a meeting of the concerned officers here to finalise the preparations for the conduct of SwachhtaPakhwada in the district.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the various activities planned for the fortnight-long campaign under the theme ‘The ShuchitaSangram’, starting from August 01 to 15 across the district to instill a sense of civic duty among the citizens of the district.
The concerned departments including RDD, Education, Forest, Municipal Council Kishtwar besides others were asked to finalise respective micro plans for the activity to be conducted during the fortnight.These activities include extensive cleanliness drives, awareness programs, rallies, marathons, quiz programs and workshops aimed at cleaning our surroundings and educating the public about waste management, sanitation practices, and the harmful effects of pollution.
During the meeting, a district-level committee and Department wise Nodal officers were constituted to oversee the campaign’s implementation.
The ACD KishtwarPhulail Singh was appointed as the nodal officer, responsible for ensuring the campaign’s overall success across the district while specific EO and BDO were appointed to handle its execution in urban and rural areas, respectively.
As part of the campaign, a Cleanliness drive, followed by swachhata pledge and awareness activities will be held on 1st August here at Historical Chowgan Ground, DC Office Complex and at various block headquarters which will witness participation by Sanitary workers of MC Kishtwar and students from all the institutions across the district whereas health checkup camps will be held for all swachgrahis at the district and block level during the fortnight.
The DC directed the officers to organise plantation drives at the legacy sites Shilaphalkam (in the memory of local Martyrs) and ensure that waste is segregated, collected, and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
Comprehensive awareness activities in morning assembly and Plog run will be held as part of the fortnight campaign at all the institutes which will be participated by the students and teachers and led by the district officers.Besides NHIDCL will ensure the cleanliness drainages in town and its periphery.
Furthermore, DrDevanshYadav highlighted the significance of SwachataPakhwada and called for the active participation of local communities, NGOs, GovtInstitutions,Students, dedicated Sanitary workers among others to come forward and contribute to the cleanliness drive.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner GhulamRasool; CEO Kishtwar Development Authority/PO ICDS Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACD KishtwarPhulail Singh; DFO Kishtwar, DSWO KishtwarZubair Ahmed Lone, Executive Officer and Block Development Officers, CMO besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
