Jammu: As part of Operation SANJEEVANI, J&K Police in Sub Division Nagrota arrested two drug peddlers on 30.07.2024. A police team from Sidhra Police Post set up a checkpoint at Bajalta Morh during routine patrolling. They stopped a suspicious Alto car with registration number JK15A/5697 traveling from Narwal towards Bajalta. The car’s driver and passenger attempted to flee but were apprehended by the police.
The suspects were identified as Mudasir Ahmed Maggi, son of Abdul Rashid, and Muneer Ahmed Beig, son of Mohd Sultan, both residents of Shalipora, Sumbal Bandipora. A search of the individuals revealed a substance resembling heroin (Chitta) in their possession.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 211/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act at Police Station Nagrota, and an investigation is underway. The local community has praised the police’s action against drug peddlers.
