Baramulla: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa in presence of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Department on Tuesday inaugurated the IDPL Under-19 Girls Handball Tournament at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla.
The tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K began with the National Anthem and a heartfelt sports pledge, where all officials and participants committed to fair play and sportsmanship.
In his opening remarks, the DC encouraged all participants, wishing them success in their athletic pursuits. He applauded the Youth Services and Sports Department Baramulla for their ongoing efforts in organizing daily sports activities, which are crucial in nurturing and promoting young talent throughout the region.
The tournament features teams from eight districts across the Kashmir province, highlighting the extensive enthusiasm and talent in handball among the youth.
The event promises thrilling matches and high-level competition, with the semifinals and final scheduled to be played today on Wednesday.
