I’Day arrangements finalized at Udhampur

Udhampur : To finalize the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Independence Day function, 2024 at District head quarter Udhampur, a meeting of officers of different departments was held on Saturday under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, UdhampurSaloniRai at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh, IAS Probationer, Swati Sheemar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, PO Poshan, SubashDogra, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, DrUmesh Shan, CPO MohdIqbal, ACD DrRanjeet Singh Kotwal and other senior officers of various department attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements which include seating, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS and fire-tenders etc.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function will be held at Government PG Degree College for Boys, Udhampur where the chief guest would hoist the National Flag and take the salute. The function would start with the ShehnaiVadan in the morning by the Information Department.
The DC directed the Executive Engineers PHE, PDD and PWD to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides uninterrupted power supply at the function site. The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue.
While discussing the Transport arrangements for the public, the DC directed ARTO to ensure the arrangement of sufficient number of buses so that a large number of people turn up for the Independence Day celebrations.
Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the end of function. She also said that programmes and cultural items will be finalized by the committee and DC asked DIO to explore the options of live telecast of these programmes with local cable operators so that people can enjoy these programmes at their homes .
DC asked the District Police and Traffic Police to ensure security and traffic management. Different committees like the Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were also constituted for the successful celebration of the National Function.
DC stressed upon the officers of various departments to celebrate the function with patriotic spirit, make close rapport and coordination between different agencies so that all arrangements required for the conduct of National function are ensured well in time. She called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue on the day of function.
