2nd Spl Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls: Special camps organised in Srinagar Distt to register new eligible voters

Srinagar: As a part of 2nd Special Summary Revision-2024 notified by the Election Commission of India(ECI) and Chief Electoral Office J&K, Special Electoral Registration Camps were held across the Srinagar District to facilitate the new eligible electors having attained the age of 18 years or above as on July 01, 2024.
In this regard, the District Election Officer(DEO) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat said that Special camps were held by all Electoral Registration Officers(EROs) of the District their respective Assembly Constituencies as per the directions of the ECI and Chief Electoral Officer to facilitate individuals, who have age of 18 years or above as on July 1, 2024, so that they can get their names registered in the Electoral Rolls by filling Form 6 used for registration of new electors.
According to the ECI notification Revision period is from July 25, to August 09, 2024 and on every Saturday & Sunday Special Camps will be organised by EROs in their respective Assembly Constituencies.
The Special Camps are being held as a part of the pre-revision activities and 2nd Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls as of July 1, 2024 as qualifying date in all 8 Assembly Segments of Srinagar District comprising 19-Hazratbal, 20-Khanyar, 21-Habbakadal, 22-LalChowk, 23-Chanapora, 24-Zadibal, 25-Eidgah and 26-Central Shalteng to enroll left out eligible individuals to provide them right to exercise their franchise in upcoming Assembly Elections.
The Special Camps will also be held on July 28, 2024 in all 8 Assembly Segments for the convenience of the individuals to get enrolled in the voter list.
