SANKALP HEW, DLSA Kishtwar organise Legal Awareness Campaign on Women-Centric Legislations

Kishtwar : Under the directions of DSWO Zubair Ahmad Lone, SANKALP HEW Kishtwar in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar, successfully organized a Mega Legal Awareness campaign on Women-Centric Legislations at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kishtwar.
The event aimed to educate women about their legal rights and the protections afforded to them under various laws.
The Legal expert from DLSA provided detailed insights and practical advice during the sessions on various issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, property rights, and access to legal aid.
The goal of the program was to empower women by making them aware of their legal rights.
Legal awareness on women-centric legislations is crucial for empowering women and ensuring their rights and safety. Understanding these laws enables women to assert their rights, prevent exploitation, promote equality, enhance participation and support other women.
Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and seek personal legal advice from the experts present.
Besides, SANKALP team also held a session on various women centric financial assistance scheme such as PMEGP, Tejaswini and PMMY.
These schemes aim to provide financial support and create a conducive environment for women to engage in entrepreneurial activities, thereby contributing to economic growth and job creation.
Providing targeted support through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Tejaswini Scheme, and others empowers women by enabling them to start and expand their businesses. This leads to economic empowerment, job creation, poverty alleviation, innovation and diversity and a balanced growth.
