Samba : District Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, chaired the Block Divas at Panchayat Salmeri on Wednesday, aiming to address the grievances of the local populace at the grassroots level.
At the outset of the event, keys of passenger vehicles were handed over to beneficiaries under the Mumkin Scheme, and trees were planted in the premises of Panchayat Ghar Salmeri.
During the session, numerous issues were raised by the public, including the removal of encroachments around Amrit Sarovar and the construction of a retaining wall, disbursement of payments to pensioners, release of payments under the SMAS scheme, construction of a culvert and a playground in Panchayat Sangwal, water supply issues in Amwal and Cheer Khar, the road from Barori to Barikahar, a land dispute at Supwal, street damage in Panchayat Salmeri, a non-functional tubewell in Panchayat Sangwal, water overflow in Chandra due to NHAI activities, and the deployment of a doctor at Gurha Slathia.
DC Abhishek Sharma, after attentively listening to the grievances, issued several directives. He called for the formation of a team to remove the encroachments and include the construction of the retaining wall around Amrit Sarovar in the development plan. He instructed the Executive Engineer (Exen) of PWD to visit all the concerned sites and submit a report to expedite the development works.
He also ordered the prioritization of Aadhaar linkages for pensioners to facilitate the release of their payments, expedited the supply of water to residents of Cheer Khar, included the Barori to Barikahar road in the development plan, directed the patwari to resolve the land dispute, and called for the rationalization of doctors and inclusion of crate work in the plan.
Additionally, the status of grievances addressed in previous Block Divas sessions was reviewed.
The event saw the participation of DDC Member Vijaypur, ACD, SDM Vijaypur, ExEns, Tehsildar, BDO, and other district and sectoral officers.
