Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel-ul Rehman on Wednesday visited Matipora Ajas and inaugurated an augmented Water Supply Scheme.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandith; ACR, Shabir Ahmad Wani; Ex. Engineer PHE, and officials of Jal Shakti Department were present on the occasion.
During the visit, the DC inaugurated the Matipora Water Supply Scheme, a crucial project executed under NABARD with a cost of Rs 446.00 lakhs. This scheme will provide clean drinking water to 8913 souls across various villages, including Chimpazpora, New Colony, Potu Mohalla, and other critical public establishments.
On the occasion, the DC urged Jal Shakti Department to ensure regular checks and tests for ensuring clean drinking water supply to the inhabitants of the area.
The residents of the area expressed gratitude to the district administration for fulfilling their long pending demand.
