Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has seized 17 Tippers, 1 JCB and 1 LNT for being involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in in Budgam in last two weeks.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that this proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been taken up by all the police stations of the district, adding therein that the mineral Department, Budgam Police realised fine in the tune of lacs against illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to act tough against these violators and also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
