Jammu : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a muscle man in Gharota Jammu and also recovered sharp edged weapons from his possession.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that a patrolling party of Police Station Gharota received a specific inputs about the presence of sharp edged weapons in the office premises of one property dealer at kalri ring road , adding therein that a Police party was immediately rushed to the spot which cordoned the premises and after laying cordon SHO Gharota reached on spot and raided the premises of said property dealer during which he found one suspect sitting on the chair in the premises.
Police in its statement further said that the said suspect on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him and during search recovered 2 no’s of Tokas (sharp edged weapons ) from his possession which were concealed in the sofa chair.
Stating that during questioning the said person disclosed his name as Santokh Singh @ Sandokha S/o Sandoor Singh R/O Rati chapri Baran Pata, Tehsil Bhalwal distt.Jammu, Police in its statement further said that the arrest and seizure was made under supervision of SDPO Akhnoo and were closely monitored by SP Rural, adding therein that a case under FIR no.70/24 u/s 4/25 Arms act was registered at Police Station Gharota besides initiating further investigations into the case.
