Ganderbal: In a recent episode of Awam Ki Awaaz, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended Bilal Bhatt from Tulmulla, Ganderbal, for his tireless grassroots efforts in social reform and women’s empowerment. Praising Bhatt as a beacon of hope, Sinha highlighted his dedication to serving the community and raising awareness on critical social issues.
For over 14 years, Bhatt has been a driving force in societal betterment through his mission, “Let’s Stand Today for a Better Tomorrow.” He has made significant contributions to women’s empowerment by actively engaging with the Social Welfare Department and the Ministry of Women & Child Development, focusing on schemes designed to uplift women and girls. Every year, Bhatt interacts with devotees at Mata Kheer Bhawani in Ganderbal, emphasizing their safety and well-being. He holds postgraduate degrees in Commerce and Disaster Management, which support his professional endeavors. Expressing his happiness, Bhatt said, “I feel very happy today because Manoj Sinha highlighted my efforts in Awaam Ki Awaaz. This acknowledgment gives new hope to my 14 years of hard work.” Bhatt’s initiatives include leading campaigns on critical issues such as suicide prevention and organizing seminars, public meetings, and camps in collaboration with various stakeholders, including the judiciary, police, and social welfare departments. His efforts in widow welfare, environmental protection, poverty alleviation, and gender equity have been recognized and awarded by various agencies. Continuing his mission, Bhatt remains committed to empowering women and improving society through grassroots campaigns, particularly in villages and remote areas, where he educates women about their rights and opportunities. “The empowerment of women and serving society has been my lifelong mission, vision, and goal,” Bhatt stated. “I am very happy to have chosen social work as my career. A dedicated social worker can make a difference in someone’s life.” For his outstanding contributions, Bilal Bhatt is not only a testament to the power of dedicated social work but also an inspiration for many aspiring social reformers.
