Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it along with officers of geology and mining department, have arrested seven accused and seized seven vehicles including (2 JCBs & 5 Tractors) for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Vishaw river at Chahlan and other areas in Kulgam district.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered besides initiating investigations, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that stringent action will be taken against people found guilty in the said crime and also appealed people to inform nearby police unit or Dial 112 regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood for the purposes of timely action against the culprits.
