Jammu: Police on Saturday said that it has solved a hit and run case in Janipur area of Jammu city by arrested an accused.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that Police Station Janipur has successfully solved a hit-and-run case registered under FIR No-55 U/S 279/304-A IPC on 04-05-2024, adding therein that since the accident, the accused had been evading arrest, creating a challenging investigation for the authorities.
Stating that a dedicated team was formed under the leadership of Sub Inspector0 Sharaz Ahmed, with Constable Anil Dev Singh and SPO Pankush Jamwal providing crucial assistance, Police in its statement further said that after relentless efforts and meticulous investigation, the accused, Rohit Kumar, S/o Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Shant Nagar, Janipur, Jammu was arrested.
Police in its statement further said that the accident-causing vehicle, an Alto bearing registration number JK02AC5241, was also seized and claimed that this marks a significant step forward in the case the investigation of which is currently underway.
