Jammu : Police on Saturday said that it has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt by rescuing eight bovines and seizing a vehicle in Sub Division Narota under the jurisdiction of District Police Jammu.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that while tightening its noose against bovine smugglers under operation “KAMDHENU” a Police team of Police Post Manwal foiled a bovine smuggling attempt by rescuing eight bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number No.JK14J-1617 at Kathar near Convent School , adding therein that the driver of the vehicle ran away from the spot after leaving behind his vehicle on the road.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 169/2024 U/S 223/ BNS was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli under the jurisdiction of District Police Jammu, Police in its statement further said that investigation of the case is underway.
