When the motive of technological education is the growth of industrial entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir, the onus of supplementing the efforts of private players in growth of industrial entrepreneurship lies on the Government.

Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has very rightly said that the strength of technological interventions lies in the strength of Institutions that are established for inducing interest of youth in engineering and technology. As Lt Governor went on record to say that Engineering Colleges are not established just for degrees sought for employment in the industrial job markets but are established to boost the interest of youth in skill development, the development of a congenial atmosphere for industrial entrepreneurship demands and deserves immediate attention and intervention of the Government. A degree in engineering is not only a license for employment in public or private sector but it is a challenge to discover new areas of entrepreneurship in the fast changing industrial scenario in Jammu & Kashmir like many states and union territories of the country. The launch of yet another private engineering college would surely see surge in the engineering degree holders but it won’t make any difference unless and until the engineering pass outs of this engineering  college too are guided well to discover  new areas of entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir like many states and union territories of the country. When the motive of technological education is the growth of industrial entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir, the onus of supplementing the efforts of private players in growth of industrial entrepreneurship lies on the Government. The growth of industrial entrepreneurship would in fact consequentially also boost the initiatives of industrial investments taken during last five years by the Jammu & Kashmir Government. So overall transformation of Jammu & Kashmir also lies in the growth and development of industrial entrepreneurship. As the successive popular Government of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state did not develop the necessary infrastructure for development and expansion of industries, the Industrial entrepreneurship did not take roots in either Kashmir Valley or Jammu division.

“The growth of industrial entrepreneurship would also develop a congenial atmosphere for Industry-Academic collaborations over which the Lt Governor laid emphasis in his inaugural address at the inauguration of a new private engineering college in Srinagar but fact remains that Industry- Academic collaboration is yet to be initiated in Jammu & Kashmir and it’s future also depends on growth and development of industrial entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir.”

With the establishing of many more industrial estates during last five years in both Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division the Government has undoubtedly created a congenial atmosphere for growth and development of industrial entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir. Yet again the growth of industrial entrepreneurship would also develop a congenial atmosphere for Industry-Academic collaborations over which the Lt Governor laid emphasis in his inaugural address at the inauguration of a new private engineering college in Srinagar but fact remains that Industry- Academic collaboration is yet to be initiated in Jammu & Kashmir and it’s future also depends on growth and development of industrial entrepreneurship in Jammu & Kashmir. The private sector in Jammu & Kashmir sectors has grown in social service sectors like tourism but industrial and engineering sectors are yet to grow at the he speed and scale of change witnessed in the growth of social service sectors like tourism  during last five years in Jammu & Kashmir.
