Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman, on Friday visited the Ziyarat Sharief of Hazrat Nanga Baji Sahib in Malangam village of Tehsil Aloosa to review the arrangements for the upcoming annual Urs Mubarak, which is scheduled to commence from 3rd of August and culminate on 10th August, 2024.
Accompanied by DDC member, Mewa Jan; ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; ACR, AD FCS&CA, ARTO, DIO, CMO, officers from PDD, PHE, and other concerned departments, the DC listened to the issues and demands raised by the management committee and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments to address the genuine grievances on priority. He also directed to provide all required possibilities for ensuring smooth and hassle-free conduct of the Annual Urs. Besides other issues, the Management Committee requested uninterrupted power and water supply during the Urs days.
The DC, on the occasion, directed the concerned officers of Jal Shakti Department to make the bore well functional at an earliest and to keep water tankers available during the Urs days.
He also directed for adequate availability of firewood and food grains, and BDO Aloosa was asked to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in the area. On the occasion, directives were passed on to health authorities to keep medical teams available. PDD officers were asked to ensure uninterrupted electricity to the possible extent during the period of Urs.
The DC asked the police and MVD to make joint efforts to ensure smooth movement of the traffic during the Urs.
He emphasized all concerned stakeholders and departments to adopt a collaborative approach while ensuring various facilities so that the annual Urs is conducted in a smooth and peaceful manner.
