Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three suspects for being involved in illegal mining & transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO Police Station Kreeri seized three vehicles (2 tractors, 1 excavator) and also arrested three drivers identified as Sajad Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Assadullah R/o Allapora, Bilal Ahmad Lone S/o Ab Khaliq R/o Harnow & Jitender Singh son of Balveer Singh R/o Punjab involved in illegal extraction/transportation of minerals at Harnow Kreeri, Baramulla.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kreeri besides initiating further investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
