Srinagar :Police on Monday said that it has arrested three suspects for being involved in illegal mining & transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Incharge Police Post Old Town Baramulla seized three vehicles (2 tippers, 1 tractor) and also arrested three drivers. Police in its statement further said that the three drivers arrested by it have been identified as Mohd Saleem Sofi S/o Ab Rahim R/o Chakloo, Abid Ahmad Gojree S/o Ab Rahman & Aqib Ahmad Gojree S/o Gh Mohiuddin both residents of Drangbal Baramulla involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Chakloo Baramulla.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
