Srinagar : Police in Kulgam on Saturday facilitated PCPG (Police Community Partnership Group Meetings) at Police Station Kulgam, Police Station DH Pora and Police Post Mirbazar.
The meetings were chaired by Addl SP Kulgam at Police Station Kulgam, Addl SP NHW Qazigund at Police Post Mirbazar, DySP PC Manzgam at Police Station DH Pora and were attended by respectable citizens including Market associations, Auqaf Bodies, Chowkidars, Numberdars, and youth of Chawalgam, Main Town Kulgam, Sangus, Kaharwat, Laroo, DH Pora, Malpora, Akhran, Mirbazar and other adjacent villages.
The participants while speaking on this occasion, appreciated the process of organising such events in which an opportunity is provided to highlight the prevailing issues of the society like; drug abuse, domestic violence, speedy justice, electricity deficiency and water scarcity and seek their redressal for the betterment of all. The officers present at the meet gave a patient hearing to their issues and assured them that their issues which are pertaining to other departments will be taken up immediately with the concerned officers for appropriate action besides issues related to Police would be resolved on priority.
While addressing the participants, chairing officers urged upon in strengthening the Police public relations and also cooperate in eradicating all types of crime from the society so that a peaceful and crime free atmosphere is created in the area. The officers have also sought inputs about smuggling of drugs and other illegal activities if any noticed for initiating appropriate action against the offenders.
