Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has launched a comprehensive drive to tackle persistent traffic violations in Baramulla, which have resulted in numerous accidents and casualties in recent months, adding therein that focus is on triple riding, driving without helmets, and rash & negligent driving.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during the drive, Baramulla Police seized several two-wheelers involved in triple riding and helmetless riding in the area, adding therein that violators were booked, and cases were registered under relevant sections of law at concerned Police Stations besides initiating investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that the drive aimed to curb traffic violations, ensure road safety for law-abiding citizens, and serve as a deterrent to future violators.
